Blessed Yuletide greetings to one and all, may the day bring you much love and light.
My Yule celebrations are under way as I type; in fact they started last night. My husband cooked a delicious meal, we had a couple of drinks, and as the sun set I lit a candle I'd set aside for the celebration and we let it burn to remind us of the light and warmth of the Sun, soon to be reborn.
The sun rose at 6.40am here in my part of Florida, so my husband and I took our dog for a nice walk in the park to share in the experience. There was hardly anyone around, but as we did a circuit of the lake we watched a flock of ducks arrive and ski to a stop on the water, and there were lots of squirrels getting their breakfast and scampering out of our way. The geese were honking away on the waters edge, and all the while the sky was getting brighter, and soon the sun's rays were warming the trees and buildings. The Lord Sun was reborn, and we can start looking forward to the nights drawing out and the coming of Spring.
Normally I would cook a nice meal and we'd make a Yule log and have it for dessert, but tonight we have a Christmas meal to go to with all the other military families that came out, so I shall put on my party dress and some killer heels and we shall celebrate Yule with our friends.
I hope you have a wonderful Yule and Christmas, and if I can't blog between now and then I will wish you a happy new year too!
Blessed be )0(
